Magic and Mummery

“You laid your trust in magic and mummery,” answered Ascalante carelessly. “I trust my wits and my sword.”

-The Phoenix and the Sword by Robert E. Howard

Recently, a small group of local writers, including myself, got together and decided they wanted to try their hand at publishing. After working with several talented local writers, along with many late night editing and planning sessions, we managed to put together an anthology. That anthology is Magic and Mummery, a collection of ten fantasy stories written by a very diverse cast of characters, and published by 7th Titan Press.

HONOR’S JUST A WORD by Wilson Geiger
THE WEARY TRAVELER by Falstaffe
DAUGHTER OF LIGHT AND FIRE by Kurt Pankau
A PUPPET SHOW by J.D. Borgia
THE EVICTION by Abigail Dunard
THE MAGICIAN’S ASSISTANT by Anna Mahler
THE GOD OF NAILS by Joe Ravata
WE OFFER BLOOD by Jeffrey Chapman
RIPPLES by Kurt Pankau
WORDS FORGED IN FIRE by Carolyn Abram

One of my stories is also included, Honor’s Just a Word, an urban fantasy take on corporate espionage. I’d like to think I happen to know a little bit about old timers coming out of their shells to surprise people, and that’s Gabriel William’s story–sometimes, if you’re desperate enough,¬†you have to prove to yourself that you’ve still got it. Even if you don’t.

Anyway, you can find Magic and Mummery on Amazon, and I certainly hope that you check it out. There’s a good range of stories, and there should be something for everyone contained within its pages. Feel free to add a review, or if you want more information, you can also find the book on Goodreads.
